Initially, you can only focus on free directories but later on as you grow, you can purchase listing in good quality directories such as yahoo directory.
Link Exchange is a bit technical stuff for webmasters. In this way, website owner search related websites and then drop them an email to see if they are interested in link exchange. A two way link exchange give equal benefits to both parties. However there are also more advanced techniques such as Tree-Way link exchanges that give the benefits of one way links. Moreover, some sites also sell one way links on per month or year basis. However google dislike link trade. So better to avoid it.

In my efforts to find out Pakistani Adsense earners, I have realized that most of them are hesitating to disclose their earning details. I don’t know why they do it. Hence I am taking the initiative myself by posting a scanned cheque of my last month’s earning.
I know this is not a big amount at all. However by posting this, I hope to encourage some big Pakistani Adsense Earners to disclose their earning details and hence become a role model for rest of webmasters.
Here is the cheque of USD 959.57, I just received it today.

Bloggers who are passionately looking to start or increase their online earnings through their posts now have many viable and workable online advertising options at their disposal. One of the most popular and easiest method is ofcourse the, Google Adsense, which is a contextual ad program from Google.
There are many other options like Azoogle Ads, Intelli Txt, DoubleClick, Tribal Fusion, Adbrite, Clicksor, AdHearUs, Kanoodle, Pheedo, TextAds, Bidvertiser, Fastclick and Value Click. Many of these online advertising option require hassle-rich registration and payment process. Due to the unavailibility of the Paypal and other monetary options, some of these may not work for the bloggers in Pakistan who want to make money from their blogs.
One more way of earning from your blog is to offer some online material and charge nominally for it. You could comple e-books, e-logs, or some tool or some plugin or some other material and if it is interesting enough then visitors should become a customer.
Affiliate programs are also one other option, though they are not much money earners. For example Amazon is there, but it is not that much breadwinner for you, as there is not much trend in Pakistan for buying books or gifts online.
You could also write for blogging sites and for the business and corporate blogging is just another wide promising field.
Branding is another viable potential blog earner. Once companies realise they can cut out the middle man and deal direct with the people that run websites and manage blogs, they will begin to see worthwhile advertising streams that are no longer about clicks but about brand saturation. In this post, we will analyze that why bloggers are not enough money using Google Adsense, especially in Pakistan.
1. Non-Profitable Niche
I think the major reason why bloggers are not making enough money with Google Adsense is the selection of wrong niche. As a blogger, we’ll have to understand that Google Adsense is a keyword-based advertising network which always look for keywords in the content to display relevant ads on your blogs. When the crawler of Google Adsense doesn’t find the keywords in the content of your blog for which advertisers are willing to pay higher then it will display either low pay-per-click (ppc) ads or public service ads which will definitely won’t make you good money with Google Adsense.
You can well imagine the difference of earning for example if you are getting 1000 impressions and 10 clicks with the ppc or $0.05 which means you are making only half a dollar. But if your niche is high paying and you get $.50 per click which means that you will make $5 with the same amount of clicks.
Politics is one of the least paying niche where advertisers are not willing to pay you higher, no matter how good your blog is and how many page impressions you get.
2. Wrong Ad Placement
Proper Ad placement is extremely important in making good money from Google Adsense. However, there is no single strategy for ad placement you can try as many placements as you want but do keep it in balance.
If you display too many ads on your blog it will looks spammy and readers will vanish and if you display very few ads at awkward positions you will not get good click-through-rate (CTR) which means low earning from Google Adsense.
3. Low Traffic
Generating traffic on a blog requires a lot of marketing skills and knowledge of different traffic building methods like social bookmarking, forum posting, commenting on other blogs etc.
Bloggers generally are very good in writing original content but they often fail to learn different techniques of traffic generation on their blogs and their very well written posts remain unnoticed.
Basically, making money online with blogs is all about traffic. If you’re trying to make good money with a blog, you must be looking at a few hundred thousand to more than a million unique visitors a month. A few hundred (or thousand) visitors a month is what most bloggers get. I’m not talking about making a few hundred dollars a month here and there (which most don’t even make).
4. Lack of Search Engine Optimization Techniques
Few bloggers think that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is dead and web crawlers are smart enough to track their web content without adopting proper search engine optimization techniques. Although, wordpress’ SEO plugins have made things simpler for non tech bloggers through which essential SEO work is done automatically.

If you don’t already have a blog, it’s time to take the plunge and get started. Remember Nike’s popular slogan? Just do it. You can learn along the way as you build up your first blog. There is a lot of freely available information about all aspects of maintaining and marketing a blog.
In the beginning, you can take a look at some of the popular blogs in your niche and take note of what you like about them. Basically you are trying to capture the best elements of those blogs and try to incorporate them in yours.

Even if you are not a Pulitzer prize winning author, you can still get better at writing as you practice. Try to blog as regularly as possible. If you stop for long periods between your posts, you may start to lose your readership. You can even write your posts beforehand if you know that you are going to be away on vacation. Then you can set up automatic scheduling to post to the blog.
Build a Community
As your blog readership grows, you will hopefully get more people interacting with you through the comments. Definitely install Akismet to catch most of the comment spam. Try to answer all of the valid comments quickly and you will make your readers feel that you care. Another option to think about is building a forum as part of your blog. Again, due to the problem of spam, forums require moderation and if you don’t have time to do this, you’ll have to find some volunteers or pay for help.
Another way to build a community quickly is by holding a blog contest. You can offer attractive prizes (like lots of cash!) or ask other bloggers to donate prizes in exchange for something you have to offer. You could offer to review their blog in your blog and give them a backlink. You could offer them your own product in exchange. Those are just two quick ideas.
Folks like Darren Rowse (Problogger) and Shoemoney have built their brands largely due to the popularity of their blogs. You have to find your own unique angle to it. For Problogger, it was teaching people about blogging and making money from it. For Shoemoney, a lot of initial interest was generated by showing a huge affiliate check and talking about tremendous success with ringtones.

If your blogs offer something of value to your readers, chances are they will expect your newsletter or email campaign to do the same. This is a good thing because you will attract subscribers, but if you don’t deliver you will find that many of your readers end up unsubscribing. Add value to your email correspondences in the same way you make your blogs interesting to retain and attract subscribers.
Make sure you give readers something of value in these emails and give them a reason to read them so that your advertising methods have the greatest chances of being successful. If you promise little known tips or hard to find information, you better deliver or readers will unsubscribe.
A good way to increase the number of people subscribing is to reveal extra information that can be found only in the newsletter.
One example is to conclude a blog entry in an email for subscribers only.

You can also use affiliate marketing in your newsletter, just be sure to have the bulk of your newsletter contains relevant content and not just ads or else your readers will start dropping like flies. Make sure your affiliate marketing is related to the content of your newsletter or email and that your audience will be interested in what you are promoting. Don’t overdo it. Treat your subscribers well!
You can also sell your own merchandise through your newsletter. If you have created merchandise with your blog logo or related slogans, adding a link in your news letter asking readers to check out your store or merchandise won’t hurt, just make sure it is paired with good content.
If you build up a large subscriber base, you can also use it to send other email campaigns and promotions for your merchandise, book, or affiliate products. A word of caution, however, no one likes unsolicited emails so you should be sure that you have permission to send additional emails and that they offer something of value and are not just viewed as annoyances.
Finally, over time as your readership and brand grows, you can also offer a paid version of your newsletter that contains more information than the free one.
